What We Offer

Our Driveway Services in Cambridge

We handle every stage of a driveway project - from digging out the old surface and preparing the ground, through to laying the final finish and tidying up. Here's what we can help with.

  • Driveway Repairs and Resurfacing

If your driveway has seen better days but doesn't need a complete rebuild, we can carry out repairs to bring it back into shape.

This includes re-laying sunken or displaced blocks, patching damaged areas, replacing broken edging, and levelling out dips that are causing water to pool.

A well-done repair can extend the life of your driveway by years.

  • New Driveway Installation in Cambridgeshire

Whether you're replacing an existing surface or installing a driveway for the first time, we manage the full process.

That includes excavation, sub-base preparation, edging, drainage, and laying your chosen surface material.

We'll visit your property, discuss your options, and provide a detailed quote that covers everything - no surprises once the work starts.

  • Drainage and Edging

Proper drainage is one of the most important parts of any driveway - and one of the most commonly overlooked.
Without it, water sits on the surface, washes away jointing sand, and causes blocks or stones to shift over time.
We install drainage channels, soakaways, and permeable solutions as part of every new driveway, and we can also retrofit drainage to an existing driveway that isn't draining properly.

We also supply and install edging in a range of materials to give your driveway a clean, finished border.

Driveway Types

Choosing the right material is one of the biggest decisions in a driveway project. Each option has its own look, feel, and maintenance requirements. Here's what we offer.

Block paving is one of the most popular driveway choices across Cambridge, and for good reason.

Individual blocks are laid in a pattern on a prepared base, creating a strong, attractive surface that can handle heavy daily use.

Block paving is available in a wide range of colours, shapes, and laying patterns – from classic herringbone to more contemporary designs – so there’s plenty of room to create something that complements your property.

If a block gets damaged, it can be lifted and replaced individually without disturbing the rest of the driveway.

With the right sub-base and proper installation, a block paving driveway will last for decades.

Gravel is one of the most affordable driveway options and suits a wide range of properties, from modern homes to more rural or period-style houses.

It’s quick to install, naturally permeable (meaning it drains well and usually doesn’t require planning permission), and available in a variety of colours and stone sizes.

We install gravel driveways with a properly prepared sub-base, weed membrane, and defined edging to keep the stones contained and the surface even.

Gravel does require occasional topping up and raking, but for many homeowners the lower upfront cost and natural look make it well worth it.

For a premium finish, natural stone brings a level of character and quality that manufactured materials can’t quite match.

We work with a range of stones, including sandstone, limestone, and granite, each offering a different colour palette and texture.

Natural stone driveways suit both traditional and contemporary properties, and because every stone is unique, the finished result has a real sense of craftsmanship.

Stone is extremely durable and, when laid on a solid base, will age gracefully over many years – developing a patina that actually improves the look of the driveway over time.

Got questions?

Frequently Asked Questions

It depends on the size of the area, the material you choose, and how much preparation is needed.

As a rough guide, block paving typically starts from around £80–£100 per square metre, gravel from around £40–£60 per square metre, and natural stone from £100–£150 per square metre.

These figures include materials, sub-base, and installation. The best way to get an accurate price is to book a free site visit.

If your new driveway uses a permeable surface (such as gravel, or block paving with permeable jointing), you generally don’t need planning permission.

However, if the surface is non-permeable and covers more than five square metres, you may need to apply for permission or include additional drainage to manage rainwater run-off.

We’ll advise you on this during your site visit.

A typical residential driveway takes between three and seven days, depending on the size, the material, and whether there’s an existing surface that needs removing. We’ll give you a clear timeline before work begins.

Block paving and natural stone are both extremely durable when laid on a properly prepared sub-base.

Block paving has the added advantage of individual blocks being replaceable if one gets damaged.

Gravel is durable too, but does need occasional topping up. All three options will last many years with minimal maintenance.

Absolutely – and it’s one of the advantages of working with us. We can handle your driveway, fencing, patio, and other garden work as a single project, which often works out more efficient in terms of time, cost, and disruption.

Yes. Proper drainage is included as standard in every new driveway we install.

We’ll assess your site and recommend the best drainage solution, whether that’s a channel drain, a soakaway, or a permeable surface that handles run-off naturally.
